Brewed Is Cut!

Today was a pretty exciting day at Lisa Lynn Creations. I got to unmold and cut my first full loaf of Fresh Brewed soap!

I have to admit, I was a little nervous before I cut into it. Making soap involves a lot of measuring, mixing and waiting, and you really don’t know exactly what you’re going to have until you finally make that first cut.

And I love it.

Fresh Brewed was inspired by something I absolutely love—a good cup of coffee. I wanted the soap to be simple and rustic, with a warm coffee color and tiny flecks of real coffee throughout it. Nothing fancy or overly decorated. Just a really beautiful handmade bar of soap.

When I cut into the loaf and saw the inside, it was exactly what I had hoped for.

The bars aren’t perfectly identical. The tops are a little uneven. You can definitely tell they were made and cut by hand.

And I think that’s my favorite part.

My test bar weighed 134 grams today, and now the bars are headed to the curing rack for the next several weeks. I’ll keep weighing that same bar as it cures so I can see how much water it loses and where the finished weight eventually settles.

I’m learning so much through this whole process. There are things I’ve already changed from my first batches, things I’m still testing, and probably plenty of things I haven’t even thought of yet.

But every time one of these ideas turns into something I can actually hold in my hand, Lisa Lynn Creations feels a little more real.

So tonight, I’m celebrating this one.

Fresh Brewed is officially on the curing rack. ☕🤎

Now I just have to be patient!

One lovely little detail at a time.
